ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT

THE FOUNDER HOD

HISTORY

 

The deparment of Industrial & production engineering was started in the year 1984 with Lt.Col. B. Papanna as the first professor and HOD. The 4 years BE degree in IPE was run under Bangalore University. Lt. Col. Papanna headed the department till 1996. In the year 1992, Bangalore university initiated a BE course in Industrial engineering & management on a semester scheme. From 1996 to 2002 , the professor and HOD of the department of mechanical engineering was also given the portfolio of heading the department of IEM. In the year 1998, the college was affiliated to Visweswaraiah Technological University (VTU) with some modifications in the syllabus and scheme.From September 2002 to Aug 2006,  Prof. S.R. Sridhar took charge. Presently, Dr.G.R.Srinivasa is the HOD.

 BE degree course in Industrial engineering & management comprises the following core courses and a host of elective subjects, along with laboratory training & projects, which caters to the present needs of the industry.The major domain areas of study are:

DEPARTMENTAL LIBRARY

The department has a library with 200 books, few journals, newsletters & magazines.    Students and staff have internet facilities with  access to J-Gate, Delnet and OPAC links.
